My Test Email Hasn't Come Through

Last updated by Adrin Siripala on March 21, 2018 10:09

It's always a good idea to send a test email before you go ahead and press the button to do a full send out to thousands of people, it gives you a chance to see the email in action and to see what it looks like, but what happens if you don't get the email? Where has it gone?

So there are a few places this email could've ended up: -

1. In your Outlook junk folder - because you are sending the email address FROM your email address TO your email address your email system might think that it's spam as you don't often send yourself emails!

2. If you are running something like Outlook for your email, it is very likely that you have what's called Webmail. This could be a product like gmail, hotmail, Yahoo!, etc this basically means your emails land there first before being downloaded by Outlook (or your other computer based email clients). On these webmails, there are their own junk folders which could mean that the email lands there first and then isn't downloaded

3. Your email client might just block it altogether if it is considered too "spammy", this could be to do with your content and some of the words that you've used, for example FREE, BUY, etc
