Should I check the links when cloning a past email in automation?

Last updated by Rich Orr on December 08, 2015 09:13

When you are building your automations the chances are that you would want to take advantage of past emails to save you time.

That is fine but it is a good idea not just to rely on the preview but to edit the action of the email send to edit the content and re-check and re-save the links you have.

Check both the visible links from text in articles and also to check the links behind the images.

So how do you do that?

1. To check text links in articles, use the edit icon then whilst in the editor highlight the clickable text and then click on the open chain link Edit icon in the toolbar which pops up the edit link box where you can see the URL. Either then just OK and save or edit that URL to change it then OK and save.

2. To check the URL behind an image, left click over the existing image (which opens your image browser), check or re-add the URL in Step 1, then click on the image filename in your image browser list.

In doing the above 2 points you will have piece of mind that your links will be fine for your automation.
