You may have imported your contacts and within each import you have matched your company name to the Company field.

However when you open up a contact record you can see their name and job title but there is no company name alongside the job title.

The first step is to check your

Company Name vs Organisation Customisation setting

It needs to be set to false in order to prefer to see company name rather than a link to an organisation: (Contacts > Settings)
