Troubleshooting - Why am I limited to 2,000 contacts per dataload?

You may well be busy importing your contacts and may have several spreadsheets (.csv files) to import.

Have you ever received a message that you have a limit of 2,000 or that when you try to match your fields across the fields on the left don't match your contact fields as normal? Read on for the solution...

1. In all probability you are in a Business dataload which enables you to import your Companies as Organisations. Business dataloads are limited to 2,000 at a time. You can easily detect that you are in a Business dataload, as the first field on the left is Name and there are no First name or Last name fields.

2. So the solution is to go back via Contacts > Import Contacts and select the Import Contacts button which is always above the Business dataloads button.

3. By the way you do have limits on the number of contacts per import, which depends on the package level you are on:

Free: 250; Sales: 500; Marketing: 20,000; Complete: 60,000

You can easily upgrade your account via My Account > Upgrade my account, in order to move up to the next level.
